As I see it, Meaning Projects break down into one of two types, and of course most combine some measure of each: A project can be either creative, an artistic statement of some sort, and a representation of a particular insight; Or a project can be autobiographical or biographical, a kind of story telling as told through all of the things of your world, and a “making permanent” of memories.
I will tell you there is no pressure to create one type over another, and no doubt you will make many of both types. You will even discover your own original kinds of Meaning Projects. That’s the point of The Meaning Project.
To get started, I suggest you tell a memory around a photo or say what you think about some object in the world. You may start with a word, and it will take you someplace, or you may start with a picture and it will take you an entirely different place. The same is true for a song or a video. Just try telling what some thing means to you, and you will see purpose of The Meaning Project. The main thing is don’t put any pressure on yourself. You will find value in just expressing your particular understanding of the world.
Lastly, all expressions count equally here, so just express. Then you will watch your personal meaning project page grow to encompass as much of your take on the world as you care to share.
Now, take a look at the walkthroughs to see how to work with the site.
I look forward to seeing your understandings and insights of the world.
